Summa Health is seeking a general practice dentist with a passion to teach to join our growing team. The chosen candidate will play a key role as a faculty member to our residency program. In this full-time position, the individual will provide direct patient care in the dental clinic, supervise our dental residents, and occasionally dental students. This role will allow for a variety of direct clinical care, precepting, education, and case work to meet the professional desires of the candidate and the needs of the program.The Dental Clinic is in the center of our campus and serves the Akron community. The Dental Center offers in-office services that include routine screenings and cleanings, acute care, as well as restorative and complex procedures.
The general practice dental residency program is one of 20 residencies and fellowship programs, involving 250 + house staff, home to 1,200 beds, and a Level 1 Trauma Center. Residents will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from many general dentists and specialists, including oral surgeons, endodontists, and periodontists.
Dental services provided within the program include:
Implant Dentistry
Restorations
Root Canal Treatment
Preventive Care
Simple & some surgical extractions
Periodontal/Gum treatment
Complete and partial dentures
Crowns and bridges
Sedation dentistry for adult special needs patients

Candidate Requirements
DDS/DMD degree
Unrestricted Ohio License or willingness to obtain
Completion of a Dental Residency is preferred
3 to 5 years of experience is preferred in substitute of no residency completion
Commitment to quality care in a patient centered, team-based environment
