NYU Winthrop University Hospital is seeking a board eligible/board certified pediatric dentist for its Center for Family Dental Medicine practice with the goal implementing a pediatric dental residency as part of the NYU Langone Dental Medicine postgraduate residency program. The position includes a faculty appointment in the NYU Long Island School of Medicine in the Department of Family Dental Medicine. The successful candidate will have active participation in the teaching and patient care components of the program, responsibility for implementation of a curriculum plan, ongoing evaluation of program content, resident performance, and the quality of resident education. Additionally, they will provide oversight and education for general practice residents in the area of pediatric dentistry and provide oral healthcare for pediatric patients in the operating room.
A DDS/DMD from a US/Canadian dental school, pediatric dentistry certificate and/or MS degree; and ABPD Diplomat status or eligibility are required. New York State (NYS) dental license or eligibility for license required. Demonstrated administrative experience in didactic/clinical teaching and involvement in research and scholarly activity is preferred. Hospital dentistry training, experience in the management of children with special health care needs, anesthesia certification or an MPH/PhD is highly desirable.
